Project Management

Steps for Document Translation

Determining the parameters for the given project (CAT software, translators + proofreaders, schedule)

File preparation (removing of unnecessary line breaks, typing of text in images, conversion to a CAT friendly format, if required)

Translation by a qualified native speaker of the target language with subject-specific expertise

Review / editing by a second translator

Final consistency check (e. g. table of contents vs. headlines) and layouting.

Every project is unique and has its own individual requirements. We employ dedicated project managers and communication technology to optimize the implementation of your project from beginning to end. Taking into account budget considerations, Logitope will work with you to find the solution best suited to your long-term translation strategy.

  • After you tell us about your project requirements, we will provide you with a free no-obligation quote.
  • If you decide to use Logitope, we will assign a project manager who speaks both the source and target language ( for German, English, Chinese ) to work with you, determine the most suitable CAT tool and clarify any special requests, terminology or file format preferences you may have.
  • Next, we will set up an ftp account for you to facilitate file transfers and send you an email containing your login information.
  • Without additional charge, we will create an electronic translation memory for you. That means that with future projects, you will only pay for new sentences and receive discounts for similar texts. In addition, we will provide the complete translation memory of all projects done with us at any point you choose – so that you are free to use it on your own or to give our competitors a chance to bid on your project.
  • Optionally, we will create an in-house glossary for you to streamline your company's long-term translation strategy.
  • The translated files will be stored on our servers in China and Germany, both connected at 100 Mbps, where you can download them via ftp or a direct http address. This avoids problems with emailing large files and ensures you and your team members can access them from any computer connected to the internet at any time.
  • After completion of your project, we will continue to be available for questions or change requests without additional charge. Using our client login area, you will be able to track how much we have charged for your translation projects and view the corresponding word count analyses.
